workshop for ages 9-13
BEtween Workshops will give your 9 to 13 year old the tools to navigate the physical, social, and emotional challenges that arise with adolescence.
The workshops weave Yoga practice and Yogic philosophy, Mindfulness and Meditation tools, discussion, small "homework" experiments, connection with family and community, and art projects. The workshops will help to establish a community of peers, and encourage a stronger bond with parents, grandparents, siblings, and extended family and friends. It is an option to come to any of the classes, but each session builds on the next, so it is helpful to commit to all 5 classes in order to maximize the benefits of the workshops.
The next series of Workshops will be offered from June 17th to the 21st from 1-2:30pm at The Nest at 3324 S. Grand Blvd.
Cost for each workshop is $15 or $60 for all 5 workshops. Please contact me (509-532-8749) if finances are preventing attendance to this workshop. Attendance is limited so please register your child as soon as you can.
I have been teaching yoga to all age groups since 2011. I have degrees in Psychology and Communication, and am a registered Yoga Teacher, RYT-200. Ever since college, I have had a passion for guiding our adolescents through the difficult transition of being somewhere in between a child and a teen. I have studied the physical, social, and psychological changes and their effects on our children. As a mother of an eleven and eight year old, these changes are slowly becoming more evident in my personal life. I was also an adolescent once myself!
It is my belief that if we can help our children navigate these waters during adolescence, when they still are more open to our teachings, they will be more likely to use the tools that they have learned for the teen years and beyond. The Yogic Philosophy is non-religious and all teachings will complement any religious affiliation to which your child adheres.
